Spring time action for carters lake stri March 18, 2024

Fishing on carters lake has been great. We are catching big stripers early in the morning in the backs of creeks on big baits behind planer boards and on free lines. Mid morning i have been having good luck over the creek channels about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way to the back downlines around 20-30 feet and free lines both have been working good on that pattern. Finally later in the day around lunch i have been spot locking the boat in 15-20 feet of water in the backs of the creeks and “chuming” the water with cut up fresh bait. Walleye and spotted bass report carters March 16, 2024

Walleye bite is very sporadic for me at the moment. I have caught them 2 feet off the bank with artificial lures and then catch another in 70ft of water on a herring down line. We are continuing to stay decently consistent catching the walleye while striper fishing which is helping break up the day and provides some good fillets to send you home with SPOTTED BASS Spots have been eating everything you throw at them. Typical secondary points in creeks and drainages are producing great. Focus fishing 5-20ft of water throwing fast moving lures or pulling free lined live baits over them.
